MODELING
2017
The module aims to introduce Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a thriving technology and approach that can be used in Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry of different countries. The incorporation of BIM in AEC industry would also produce new opportunities for professionals such as Architects, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors to increase their efficiency in tedious routines thus able to be more focus in their primary role for example design and contract administration respectively. BIM technology is not limited to just a single product as maybe misunderstood by some, however this module will focus on Revit as a learning platform.
Project 1-
BIM Applications in AEC Infographics
This project intends to expose students to the various current applications in the AEC industries, through an in-depth review of the literatures. The findings are presented in the form of an infographic.
Project 2a-
Building Modeling
The second project involves the production of Revit model of the selected architecture design using Architectural Components such as Wall, Roof, Stairs, Floor, Curtain Wall, Doors and Windows.
Project 2b-
Building Documentation
This project involves the production of building documentation drawings from the Revit model created in Project 2a, using Revit’s Documentation Components such as Sheets, Titleblock, Sections, Room Tags, Schedule and Phasing.
