This module is aimed at introducing students to the requirements, activities and operations involved in working in architectural / construction practices. The purpose is to facilitate the involvement of students in professional attachments to architectural practices in order to develop an understanding of the general nature, principles and procedure of law and legislation as applied to architectural drawings, especially the Building by-laws. Students will also be exposed to the process of authority submission for various drawings from an architectural practice and the range of contract documentation produced to support these drawings.

Via a full-time internship attachment, students will further appreciate the documentation and report-writing skills required of an employee (architectural assistant / architect) in a typical architect’s firm.

INTERNSHIP TRAINING &

REPORT

2017

A short semester of internship is definitely a great head start for the last year of my degree life in architecture.  As a student in Taylor’s University, we are set to have a real life experience in the working field instead of just having the brief knowledge in lecture notes. An architect’s life at work is very contrasting to what we do in university as everything done in office will be accounted. Therefore, an architect has to design with practicality, work in budget, and manage their workload and time at the same time.

Nevertheless, a little different than others is I have applied my internship in Taiwan, as I think it was a good timing to experience architecture in different country. Besides the knowledge that I learned during intern, I am lucky to have the opportunity to walk into every single corner in Taiwan and discover the humanities and architecture there. The best way to explore architecture is travel and to get beneath the cultural of it. Hence, I decided to get out of my comfort zone, and see the world using this opportunity once in my life.

Thanks to Harmonious Architects & Planners let me to have my intern happily and really memorable and knowledgeable. I have attached the internship logsheet, report and testimonial letter further reference.
